BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse

Filed under: American, Brewery, Chandler, AZ, Sports BarTom @ 3:45 pm

One of the first places I went out to eat in Arizona was BJ’s. Of it’s five locations in AZ I went to the Chandler location. Located in the outside portion of the Chandler mall, you can choose to either eat inside or outside.  They have a really good Americana menu and a cool floor design. There is a large sports bar in the center of the restaurant and glass panes that separate off the Brewery section of the restaurant. For the first few times I went there I ordered the shrimp tacos, which comes with 2 tacos and a side. The last time there I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with fries. The service is always good and the drinks at the bar are priced well. I highly suggest trying some of their own draft beer. I had their blond and had to order another, its fresh and served in a ice cold glass. Some friends I went with also tried some of their other darker, heavier beers and liked them as well.

Again the atmosphere is pleasant and makes you want to come back for more. They even offer beer tours and events. Although it is a national chain, I didn’t get the whole cookie cutter feeling when going there like you would at say an Applebee’s or Friday’s. Maybe I will try another one of their locations.

Indigo Joe’s

Filed under: American, Mesa, AZ, Sports Bar, VegetarianJeff @ 3:04 pm

I walked into Indigo Joe’s Bar and Grill about noon-thirty for lunch today. Initially I noticed the hundred-something TV’s hanging from the ceiling and crammed into the walls outnumbering other lunch-goers. I look down and saw a modestly sized place with nice waiters/waitresses but nothing about the atmosphere was particularly interesting. For the last 8 or so months I’ve decided to try out being a vegetarian so I ordered the veggie burger (no mayo) and fries. I’m not particularly fond of veggie burger patties but I liked that it had sprouts and avocado. Got my food after a short bit of zoning out and watching baseball. The burger seemed fresh and the fries were crispy and pretty good. Overall I’ve got little to complain about but I’m not really sold on their lunch options. They didn’t have any lunch specials or deals and everything else was just a little overpriced in my opinion. I guess it’s more of a night-time attraction but I don’t really care to go back. I’d say it’s a mediocre restaurant but I did appreciate the veggie burger option!

Streets of New York

Filed under: Mesa, AZ, Pizza, Sports BarTrevor @ 2:57 pm

Today we wanted somewhere close and somewhat fast. We decided we would try out Streets of New York located on Superstition Springs Blvd. & Power in Mesa, AZ. They serve pizza, sandwiches, & salads. We were a group of about 10 so we decided to just get some pizzas to share. We went with three thin crust. We had a pepperoni, a new york combo, and a ham and pineapple.

The pizza was good. Not the best pizza I have ever had, but it was pretty good. The place has a good atmosphere. Would be a good place to go with some friends and catch a game. I believe their sandwiches and salads are pretty good as well. If you are in the area, go ahead and check it out.

Indigo Joe’s

Filed under: American, Mesa, AZ, Sports BarShay @ 1:16 pm

Today we headed down to Indigo Joe’s for lunch. I have personally never been to Indigo Joe’s before, nor have I even heard of it. However the restaurant did look fairly nice from the outside and it is in a development with some fairly decent restaurants. In general it looked like a good place to have our Friday lunch.
